My Story

I have been struggling for many months trying to decide, once and for all, whether to publish my autobiography, Peace and Freedom are My Names.  Because it is a very personal account of my descent into madness – and eventual recovery – I wondered whether I should just set the past behind me and get on with enjoying life.  That has been very tempting.  However, I sense that is not what God wants from me.  When I eventually emerged from my madness and began to experience the joy of living, I questioned what it had been all about.  Had I been through those years of hell for no other reason than to sit back and enjoy myself?  That did not sit well with me.  In talking to God about publishing my story, discussing it with friends, having those I trust and respect read the manuscript - and be encouraged by their feedback - I knew that my story has to be told.  Having now made that decision to publish it, I meet with a publisher on Monday to discuss ‘where to from here’.  I am now ready for this next challenge in my life.  A special friend reminded me yesterday, that knowing that God has been with me throughout my intense struggles, He has not left me now and He will be with me throughout the publishing experience.  Emmanuel – God is with me.
